This Photograph of the Virgin Mary
has been in my keeping for at least twenty
seven years.
It is the only "ghost" photo I
have ever seen that I cannot explain.
This is not a reflection from a
light bulb or shiny object (an "orb"),
nor is it an object like the camera
strap
or a finger in front of the lens
(an "ectoplasm").
It is a clear, recognizable image.
It could be produced by a technician
making a double exposure in the lab
but not by an elderly lady taking
a picture of a child.
Another point to ponder is that
the reflection (If that's what it is.)
appears closer and more detailed
than the statue.
This is the original print of a
snapshot taken by a friend of my mother's
I actually don't know who it was.
An examination of the back of the
snapshot reveals a stamp that
shows it was printed by Kodak in
Sept. 1978.
You can see the child at the bottom
and the statue of the Virgin Mary above.
Why you see a larger reversed image
of the Holy Mother I do not know.
It was given to me to reproduce
so that all my mother's friends could have a copy
Since they considered it evidence
of an appearance of the Blessed Virgin..
Because I am involved with Ghost
stories of New England
and have ghost photos of my own
I have been meaning to present
it on my web page for several years now.
If you have an explanation I'd
like to hear it.
If you like it feel free to download it.
By the way. In case you are wondering why
I include this picture on Dracula's Castle's web page.
Are you familiar with the line from the movie?
"On this night, Madame, the doors, they are barred, and to the Virgin we pray."
